Golf tournament raises money for MSBA FutureBuilders
More than 150 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at the Lake of the Ozarks on September 29 as they took to the links at The Oaks and Sycamore Creek golf courses to raise money for the MSBA’s education foundation FutureBuilders. The annual tournament was held prior to the MSBA Annual Conference in Cooperation with the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA).
Golfers could start their day with a continental breakfast provided by Thomas McGee and Unum. FGM Architects sponsored golf carts for the day of fun and competition. Seminole Energy contributed beverages. Design Architects provided a fun stop at a Par 3 with their Circle Contest, and Renaissance Learning took pictures of the golf teams so that the golfers would have a memento of the day.
After the tournament the golfers gathered at The Oaks Clubhouse for a social hour and award ceremony. Playing in a scramble format, golfers vied for low score bragging rights. The low score of 53 was posted at the The Oaks by the team of J. Oswald, P. Kinder, J. Finley and D. Bartow. The Sycamore Creek low score of 56 was achieved by the team of P. Hilvely, M. Jensen, B. Depee and C. Cooper. The Trane Longest Drive Contest winners were S. King at The Oaks and M. Denbow at Sycamore Creek. The Piper Jaffray Putting Contest was won by J. Oswald at The Oaks while C. Snider was able sink her putt to win at Sycamore Creek. The day culminated with a raffle and silent auction.
MSBA FutureBuilders wished to thank the participants, sponsors, and supporters for the part each played in making the day a success. A complete list of sponsors and contributors, including a link to their websites, can be viewed by clicking here [http://msbafuturebuilders.org/supporters.html]. The generosity of all involved helped fund the Belcher Scholarship for the coming year as well as support for other MSBA FutureBuilder initiatives.
